Job Description

In line with AB’s commitment to diversity and inclusion we are seeking talented, highly-motivated undergraduate students from underrepresented populations in finance who have demonstrated significant academic achievement, intellectual curiosity and an interest in financial services. This program is designed to provide a select group of students with first-hand exposure to careers in sales, asset management, investment research and financial services.

Following 1-week of trianing, nterns will have the opportunity to work with and gain exposure to senior professionals across the firm. Each intern will rotate through two 4-week assignments with a different team. During each assignment, the interns will be tasked with a specific project with a goal of producing tangible accomplishments. The intern will help improve current processes and complete projects that will be useful well beyond the intern’s departure. Potential opportunities offered:

Investment Services: Assist senior members of research and trading teams in analyzing various sectors to identify investment opportunities.

Sell Side Equity Research:Acquire expertise in a sector working with a Senior Analyst who is a seasoned industry expert and learn in-depth analysis of the industry and companies

Technology and Operations:Work closely with the Technology and Operations teams and support them in various aspects of their work, including projects with the potential for significant business impact

Client Servicing: Learn about specific strategies we offer to clients, business development, client service, marketing, and the opportunity to develop strategic communication skills

Candidates should be top academic performers, be interested in the investment management industry and meet the following criteria:

  • May or June 2019 Bachelor’s degree candidates
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident 
  • Strong communication and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
  • Some coursework in finance and economics is a plus

Job Requirements

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time from June through August.
  • It is not permissible to simultaneously take academic classes or hold other employment that will conflict with the internship schedule.
  • Selected candidates will need to successfully complete a thorough background check.
